如何让你的英文写作更具文采?

常听同学们抱怨英文写作中的苦恼:绞尽脑汁也凑不够写作要求的词数;单词拼写、语法句式错误连连,写的不少,得分不多;表达方式枯燥单一,毫无文采,味如嚼蜡。下面给大家介绍一种写作方法,让同学们解决这些苦恼的同时,还能找到英文写作的自信和快乐。

写作实例2010年武汉市中考英语书面表达)

假设你是Li Ming, 请给你的美国笔友Tom 写一封 e—mail,介绍你的英语老师Mr. Lee。要点如下:

1.40岁,有一个幸福的家;2. 性格外向,与学生相处很好;3. 他的课堂很有趣,课后常帮我们学英语;4. 不抽烟,非常喜欢运动,擅长下棋;5. 写一至两点其他同学对他的看法。

意:1. 词数60—80,信的开头和结尾已给出,不计入总词数。

2.文中不要提及真实的校名和人名。

参考词汇:outgoing adj. 外向的;smoke v. 吸烟;chess n. 棋。

二、写作步骤:

1.认真审题。

首先是写什么。即弄清要表达什么内容;通过哪些要点来表达;字数是多少;有哪些特别要求等,对要写的内容做到心中有数。

其次是怎么写。怎么写要明确以下内容:

明确时态。根据作文的体裁及内容,确定全文的大致时态。如上例写作内容是介绍老师,应主要用一般现在时。如果时态用错,最后将很难取得理想的分数。

明确人称。如上例,介绍之初用第一人称,后面涉及到介绍老师部分用第三人称,涉及到同学们的用第一人称(we/us)。

2.提炼短语

根据写作要求,围绕主题拓展思维,联系生活,大胆想象,并思考将要用到哪些短语;为提高效率,方便后面造句,将这些短语罗列在草稿纸上,如上例:

40 years old /a happy family /be outgoing

getalong well with/ be interesting/ help sb with sth

doesn’t smoke/ be good at play chess/ like sports very much

提炼短语时要注意两点:一是这些短语一定要能覆盖到写作要求的所有要点;二是遇到不会翻译的要点用其他表达方法。如忘记了“get along well with”我们可以用 be friendly to be kind to,甚至还可以用“we all like him”等来代替。

3.短语造句

这一步,我们要用上面提炼出的词来造句。此时一定要注意时态和人称的变化。

He is 40 years old. / He has a happy family. / He is outgoing.

Heget along well with us. / His class isinteresting. / He often helps us with English after class.

He doesn’t smoke. / He is good at playing chess./ He likes sports very much.

4.提升文采

第一步,精彩的开头。

平时,同学们要注意积累一些不同写作内容的精彩开头和结尾,如写人的文章,我们都可以用以下句子作为开头:

Do you like your English teacher? I like my English teacher best.

Ihave a great English teacher, he is very important for us.

Which teacher do you like best? I like my English teacher best.

大家可以积累一些这样描写人物的句子,并选取一个你最喜欢的作为开头。

第二步,润色句子。

首先,改变单句表达方式。除了陈述句,在初中阶段我们还学习了感叹句、一般疑问句、特殊疑问句、选择疑问句、反义疑问句、祈使句等等,我们可以根据需要把上面的这些句子用以下句式表达:

How old is he? He is 40 years old.(特殊疑问词)

What a happy family he has! (感叹句)Is he outgoing? Yes! (一般疑问句)

Is his class interesting or boring? Interesting!(选择疑问句)

然后,巧妙使用连词和关联词语连词和关联词语的运用,会使句子之间的连接更为顺畅、精彩:

表示顺承关系的词语:1. and; 2. then; 3. neither...nor...; 4.either...or..., 5. on the other hand;6. by the way; 7. not only..., but also...; 8.in aword...

表示转折关系的词语:1.but; 2. however; 3. or

如上例,在介绍完老师帮助我们学英语后,再介绍老师不抽烟、爱运动时,我们就可以这样连接:He often helps us withEnglish after class. On the other hand,he likes neither smoking nor drinking.

第三步,运用从句。运用主从复合句稍有难度,建议同学们在有把握的情况下使用。如上例,介绍老师的年龄和家庭时,也可以用定语从句表达:

He is a 40-year-old man who has a happy family.

写他课下帮助我们学习英语时,可以用结果状语从句表达:

He is so friendly to us that he often helps us with English after class.

虽然使用从句可能有一定难度;但如果正确使用,一定能为同学们赢得加分。

第四步,有力的结尾中文写作讲究凤头豹尾,英文写作也不例外。我们不妨试试下面的结尾:

This is my excellent teacher, we will like him forever.

What an excellent teacher! /How excellent Mr.Lee is! Do you like him?

Would you like to be his student? / He is veryexcellent, isn’t he? Yes!

5.整理成文

现在,我们就可以把草稿上的文章整理在试卷上啦!此时,一定要注意书写清晰、工整。这样可以为自己赢得不少印象分哦!

Whichteacher do you like best? I like my English teacher best, we all call him Mr.Lee.

Heis a 40-year-old man who has a happy family. He is outgoing, isn’t he? Yes! Hegets on well with us. What a humorous teacher he is! He is so friendly to usthat he often helps us with English after class.

Onthe other hand, he likes neither smoking nor drinking. However, he likes sportsvery much. By the way, he is good at not only playing chess but also playingbasketball!

Howdo you like Mr. Lee? Would you like to be a student in my class?
